DayZ creator Dean Hall showed off some new screen shots of buildings and interior shots for the upcoming DayZ standalone game. He wrote on his official blog, “The village I used to take the screenshots in now has all its buildings enter-able, including the sheds. Most of the focus so far has been on the buildings that are situated outside of the center, but we’re now turning to doing interiors for the city buildings. This is complicated by our desire to dramatically increase performance, and given the scene complexity inside cities, we need to balance this with the desire to increase building scavenging opportunities inside the cities.” Check out some of the screen shots below. Can’t wait for the...

Earlier this month two Bohemia Interactive (studio that created ArmA 2) developers were arrested in Greece under suspicion of spying on a military base in Lemnos. Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar are currently facing a 20 year prison term and Bohemia Iteractive has reached out to their game’s gaming communities for help. They have launched the site HelpIvanMartin.org to keep us updated. “We’ve been gratified at the interest you have shown in our games and especially the attention garnered by the recent DayZ phenomenon,” Bohemia spokesman Ota Vrtatko said. “What I would like to do is to make you aware, if you’re not already, of a community created support website for Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar – HelpIvanMartin.org The...

DayZ -TX- Community Feedback #3

Posted 13 Sep 2012 in Community News

We received another email from a survivor named DrWho1968. We thought we should share. Hey -TX-, I have been playing on your server for about a week now and it is pretty cool. I would be interested in donating to help support the server, but am NOT interested in taking on the -TX-. Would you or your crew have any issues with that? I am not sure what name (probably DrWho1968) I am under. In any case, if you are cool with this, let me know. Thanks, Ken DrWho1968, We are glad you found and enjoy playing on our DayZ server. We would like to thank you for your interest in supporting our community. The admins are here to...

Here is another awesome email I want to share with everyone. This one was sent by BClinton. “Not a support issue but didn’t know how else to phrase it.   Wanted to let you guys know what a great job on the website and server you are doing.  If you are down with adding a new squadmate outside TX you have a friend in Alabama.   Would be happy to join up with you all sometime.   Also, how much do you pay for server hosting per month?  I am also happy to donate a little for the privilege of playing on such a well maintained and monitored server.  Anyway, hope you all are doing well! BClinton” BClinton, First,...

DayZ -TX- Community Feedback #1

Posted 27 Aug 2012 in Community News

We got an awesome email and we wanted to share it with everyone. Maletech, a DayZ Texas community member writes: “Just wanted to say that I consider your server my number one server because of your involvement and communication with the players.  Figures that I stumble upon some DayZ news and it is run by the same group. Unfortunately we go burned pretty bad by some hackers so my group forced me to move on, but naturally we got burned even worse by hackers on the next one.  Such is the state of the game and I totally understand. Will be back on your server soon.  Keep up the great work and all your hard work and information is...

Six Launcher vs DayZ Commander

I’ve been playing DayZ now for about a month or so now. There are two programs to join DayZ servers, that I know of. I started off using Six Launcher to load DayZ servers and scroll through the massive list of servers to find a good one to play in. I now use DayZ Commander to find servers and launch my game. I’ll give a little explanation and pros and cons below. Six Launcher Six Launcher was good to start off with, it got me in the game. It has 2 parts to it, Six Launcher and Six Updater. Not sure what the difference is. I only used Six Launcher. Basically you load up Six Launcher, and it will...
